Official request from Tractor to AFC: Match against Shabab Al-Ahli to be moved to a safe country due to the state of war in Saudi Arabia

Tractor Club, in a letter to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), citing the state of war in Saudi Arabia and the lack of security guarantees in that country, has officially requested the transfer of the match against Shabab Al-Ahli (UAE) to a safe country.

According to Tractor Club's official media, following the announcement of the Ministry of Sport and Youth, Tractor Club sent an official letter to the AFC expressing concern over the decision to hold the remaining matches of the Elite League in a centralized format in Saudi Arabia, which coincides with the military aggression against our dear homeland Iran and the escalating state of war and unrest in the region. The club requested that the match between "Tractor Iran" and "Shabab Al-Ahli UAE" be moved to a safe, stable country away from the prevailing tensions in the region.

Tractor Club, recalling the AFC's previous decision to transfer Tractor's home matches to a third country (citing insecurity in Iran), emphasized that currently, due to the war in the region, full security guarantees in Saudi Arabia face serious ambiguity. Furthermore, foreign and Iranian players of Tractor Club have expressed their concerns to the club regarding the insecurity caused by the war conditions in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Tractor Club, with the aim of upholding justice and protecting the health of team members, officially requests that this match be moved to a safe country free from military conflict.

At the end of the letter, Tractor Club expressed hope for a change of venue and stated that pursuing the matter through FIFA remains its reserved right.

It is worth noting that a copy of the letter has also been sent to the Ministry of Sport and the Football Federation for their information.

It is reminded that according to the schedule, Mohammad Rabiei's players are supposed to face Shabab Al-Ahli of the UAE on Tuesday (April 14, 2025) at 18:15 in Saudi Arabia's "Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal" Stadium.
